Happy New Year!!

We had a wonderful New Year here at our house. I spent the first half of the day prepping and cooking snackie finger foods; then everyone could munch for the rest of the day at will and I didn’t have to do anything but wash the crock pots at the end of the night. So out with the “old man” now goes my horrible eating habits that I have crept back into my life. It is so easy to slip off of the path that you should be on. I am determined to find the path and myself again.

We saw the old man go out with a bang. Jay put on a spectacular the fireworks show. Snow was falling and it was absolutely beautiful. The kind of snow you see in old movies. Fluffy floating down, sticking in your eyelashes. Savanah and I bundled up and walked up the hill to get a better view. The boys were in the field helping Dad with the artillery.

This morning we awoke to the promise of everything fresh and clean and new. The sky is blue and the sun is bright. Everything seems happy and cheerful outside our door.

The buds on the trees even seem more hopeful of the blessings yet to come.

You will soon be able to tell that this is a brand new year, by more than just the date on the calendar. You will feel a sense of newness in everything you see-as though you are looking at the world though different eyes. This is not an overnight miracle, though. This is something you have been working on and evolving through for some time now. Although this change of perspective may seem nearly imperceptible, you can credit your new outlook to your quest to improve your life over a long period of time. Enjoy your new world on the first day of it!

(my horoscope this morning turned out to be like a reflection in a pond)
